This bibliography is an innovative attempt in the field of violence against women in Sri Lanka compiled to benefit the general readers as well as researchers, students, activists and policy makers. This compilation endeavours to cover all areas of violence against women in the community, by the state and in the family, including a full array of resource material from books to monographs and newspaper articles, both published and unpublished. The book is presented with a bibliography along with annotations placed under a systematic subject-wise arrangement. It enables the reader to appreciate the extent and scope of the subject matter as well as the opportunity to assess the legal reforms. The resources available also help to show the prevalence of gender violence in Sri Lanka including the attitudes of media in reporting gender crimes, the level of influence and support by the state towards victims of violence, legal procedure in cases of gender crime and the role of the United Nations and NGOs in these issues.
