This document refers to the second International Conference organized by SLEvA on the theme “Evaluation – An Essential Element in the Development Process.” The conceptual background of evaluation as promoted by SLEvA is to obtain useful feedback on development interventions for the purpose of improving such efforts. The conference was organized for the purpose of providing an opportunity for sharing such experiences, both local and international. Valuable inputs from local and international speakers at this conference are summarized in this document. It also contains a summary of its proceedings. The conference was open to international and national participants engaged in policy issues, planning, monitoring and evaluation and research, in the public, private and non-governmental sectors.
