The objective of this study is to examine the impact of macro policy, structural change and growth on income distribution and poverty. The report focuses on the 1990s and seeks to identify the sectors in which growth took place and to trace its distributive impact through production, employment and incomes and their impact on the poor. In doing so, the study takes into account the effects of external factors such as trade dependence and internal factors such as the decade-long civil war.
