VSO is a people centered organization. This is a book about individuals and their personal experiences of VSO in Sri Lanka. It is not a book that focuses on providing statistics, but it captures a powerful sense of progress that individuals and organizations firmly link back to VSO. The content is divided into several parts. First country office staff set the scene in Sri Lanka, providing context for VSO,s work over the last 20 years. Next volunteers and staff at partner organisations share their experiences. This is not an attempt to evaluate and capture VSO,s achievements in a nature of a donor report or publicity document. Implicit in the production of this legacy document is the reality of VSO,s departure from Sri Lanka after 40 years. This book captures some of the strengths that have been shared over many years. The book is about people and partnerships.
