The People’s Response to Regaining Sri Lanka and Needs Assessment is a collection of trade unions, non-governmental organizations, alliances, women’s groups and many other individuals from the North East and rest of the country. These groups are concerned with the processes of Regaining Sri Lanka and the Needs Assessment and people’s ownership in rebuilding the North East and subsequent sustainable development of the entire country. It was created to pressurize key stakeholders to engage in dialogue and implement the reconstruction and sustainable development of Sri Lanka with dignity and respect for communities in the country. This report is the continuation of a trend that was initiated by the people of Sri Lanka and will continue as a process to contribute toward the sustainable development of the country.
