This SAAPE Report is about poverty in South Asia, A phenomenon that affects a quarter f humanity in the world and half the inhabitants of the region, A striking majority of them women and children. It is the product of a series of interactions, debates and consultations. Each country has been written by authors working at the grassroots in varying roles. Some of them are community organizers, some are engaged in human rights defense, some in gender justice movements while others are fighting for trade union rights. Each of them however share a common goal-to fight the evil called poverty.
