The report is a publication of the third quarter of the year 2012 of the survey on the Sri Lankan Labour Force. The survey is conducted by the Department of Census and Statistics of the Ministry of Finance Planning which seeks to measure the levels and trends of employment, unemployment and labour force survey on a quarterly basis continuously. The field study has been conducted over a period of three months covering the whole country, providing a national representation of the status of the labour force. The report has primarily been measured by age groups and tabulated in comparison over the years in rural, urban and estate regions of employment. The report also surveys the nature of the jobs and the salaries paid to people in terms of their work and according to gender.
