This is based on workshop proceedings on rebuilding of tsunami affected areas in the Southern and the Eastern Provinces of Sri Lanka held in March 2009 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. ‘Restore Project’ is a reconstruction and restoration program under CIDA (Canadian International Development Agency). Several Canadian Universities in collaboration with Sri Lankan Universities were involved in implementing this project. The ultimate aim of the project was to develop six selected villages as ‘model villages’ to share their achievements with other tsunami-affected villages.
