This Handbook by the Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA) stimulates the design and implementation of appropriate reconciliation processes to support and strengthen appropriate democratic structures. It addresses components of the reconciliation process including the context, people, instruments and the role of the international community. The handbook relates to methods by which reconciliation can be implemented in parallel with and as a constructive part of activities of reform or reconstruction.
