The teacher in-service project of the North-East Province started in 1990. An impact study of the work undertaken has been carried out with assistance from the Provincial Ministry of Education/NEP. The main strategy for this study was built on focus group interviews. These were supplemented by visits to a few schools in some of the zones in the North-East Province.
