This publication highlights many problems and drawbacks in the education system in Sri Lanka. These issues permeate all levels of education, the primary, secondary and the tertiary levels that include policy decisions, organisation, management, curricular provision, etc. These issues, though not prominent or either ignored, needs careful analysis. The issues highlighted in this book are mainly related to school education, but issues in relation to unemployment of university graduates and analytical assessment of the current educational reforms are also included. However, both these issues highlighted are equally critical as educational unemployment is too thretening to be left disregareded for it could lead to a national disaster. The analytical assessment of the current educational reforms is valuable for the role any reforms play in national development and the future progress of education in the country.
