With health at the centre of global development policy, developing countries and international communities are focused on scaling up health systems in line with the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). As a result, global aid and individual country health reform plans are trained on improving health outcomes, securing financial protection against impoverishment and ensuring long-term sustainable financing to support these gains. This publication examines Sri Lanka’s ventures in expanding healthcare coverage.
