The 2012 Sri Lanka Human Development Report by the United Nations Development Program Sri Lanka takes into consideration the human dimensions into consideration when measuring development. AS such, income is not the sole variable and other factors such as education and healthcare are also used as measuring indices. The report covers the progress of Sri Lanka towards new development horizons with the conflict ending more than three years ago. It captures the regional imbalances in Sri Lanka's development and inequalities that prevail in the country. The report also examines socio-economic and political disparities across the population groups highlight development differences among provinces and districts.
