This publication presents an overview of six research projects within the ‘Knowledge Networking for Rural Development in Asia Pacific’ (ENRAP) research programme. It questions if Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have enabled farmers to sell beyond local markets and at better prices, and whether there have been social gains in linking geographically dissimilar households and social networks. Using these six projects as case studies, the authors of this book have provided significant new insights into how challenges of mainstreaming ICTs into rural livelihoods can be achieved and how to measure the impacts more effectively.
