The objective of this series of studies is to assess the manner in which children’s rights are observed in Sri Lankan society. This volume focuses on a study carried out in a village community in Kandy, in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. This study explores on the Nanvandanna caste, the inheritor of the brass industry, which is the main source of income in the community under study. The findings reveal the impact of a small enterprise on the socio-economic condition of the community members with special emphasis on the rights of the children.
