This book is published by the United Kingdom Government’s Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), and aims to raise awareness of the importance of trade in eliminating global poverty. The United Kingdom Government believes that rich country barriers to global trade are indefensible. They recognize the challenges of helping countries develop their ability to do business at home and find markets abroad. A few examples are sighted as to how this could be done. The United Kingdom Government is looking at an international trading system that could reduce poverty for many, and not one that makes profit for the few.
