In this publication, Dr. Anderson writes about The Japan Women,s Network for Disaster Risk Reduction (JWNDRR) proposal for the development of an international gender and disaster risk reduction training initiative. The training initiative will target implementation of trainings over a ten-year timeframe that coincides with the next post-2015 Hyogo Framework for Action in Disaster Risk Reduction agreement from 2015-2025 to ensure that gender equality is integrated in disaster risk reduction approaches and that women,s leadership in the field of disaster risk reduction is recognized.
