This study is primarily concerned with teacher in-service facilities for primary schools in the North-Eastern Province. It begins with a look at socio-economic backgrounds, traces the education sector in the North-Eastern Province and looks at the primary in-service programmes and their shortcomings, supported by data collected from questionnaires and interviews with ISAA (P) and teacher questionnaires and classroom observations, and concludes with recommendations for improvement. The study is replete with data collected from surveys carried out for this purpose.
