This report is compiled using information from the Household Based Survey Module on Child Labour by the Department of Census and Statistics. It covered a sample of 14,400 households and focuses on children between five and seventeen years of age. The survey results are represented in the form of tables and charts and it captures the nature of the problem effectively. It looks at various aspects of child labour, from the type of economic activities to the impact that it has on children and how much time these children spend studying and engaging in recreational activities. The report has also charted information such as the various reasons for child labour, how much they earn and their involvement in housekeeping activities. It therefore creates an in-depth understanding of child labour and will be useful for all those who work with such children and those who are working towards the elimination of child labour.
