The objective of this series of studies is to assess the manner in which children’s rights are observed in Sri Lankan society. This volume focuses on a study carried out in a village in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. This study explores the alternative sources of income that were discovered with the decline of the agriculture based system, and how these alternative sources of income have molded the different family strategies, and more importantly, the implication of these economic alternatives and family strategies on the rights of the children.
