This study attempts to identify economic and employment opportunities available for children aged 14-18 years old in the war-torn Northern Province of Sri Lanka. It also attempts to identify the resources available locally that could generate new employment. The study has two phases; one phase identifies current investments, presently available vocational training programmes and resources in each of the five districts in the Northern Province. The second phase focuses on field surveys on demand and supply of employment, in order to identify the gaps in the demand and supply sides of the labour market.
