The objective of this paper is to present to the South Eastern European corporate governance community the achievements and the problems on the way towards the establishment of a modern pattern of disclosure of information by Bulgarian public companies. The process is seen by the authors as a mutual effort of the legislators, regulators, boards members of the public companies, SROs and the stakeholders. Relevant to this view is the paper's structure.
