Jayasekera questions the apparent apathy of today’s youth towards the waning labour movement. She argues that the movement is in dire need of youth participation in order to ensure that there is continuous resistance to exploitation and mistreatment of workers. Youth workers are lacking the drive that they need to challenge the status quo. Jayasekera emphasises the importance and urgency of this issue in this day and age.
