The Department of National Planning Ministry Finance has prepared a plan, in keeping with the government’s policy framework ‘Creating our future: building our nation.’ The objective of the plan is to ensure that Sri Lankan children grow up in an environment where they can grow, learn and be safe. It hopes to ensure that all children have access to services that contribute to their welfare and development and that uphold their fundamental rights. It seeks to aid children by meeting their immediate needs while forming a long-term plan that will ensure that their rights are upheld. The plan explores all aspects of children’s lives such as how to combat child labour, juvenile justice and healthcare. It uses tables to effectively represent the objective, strategy, improvements and new programmes and so and so forth. This is a comprehensive action plan for the children of Sri Lanka.
