This document provides valuable input to the donors assisting in quality management and also facilitates the introduction of improved methodologies, standards and processes for quality management. The overall objective of this survey is to facilitate the implementation and efficient quality management systems that would improve the results from such systems in a cost-effective manner and also create a critical class of evaluators with adequate competency in evaluating quality management practices. The specific objective of the study is to develop standards on methodology and process of quality management in public, private and non-governmental organizations and to facilitate advocacy in development cooperation for quality management. This report covers: i) types of quality management practices adopted, ii) types of certification sought, iii) methodology adopted by the organizations in achieving quality management, iv) costs involved in obtaining quality certification, v) success stories and results and vi) lessons learned.
