The objective of this series of studies is to assess the manner in which children’s rights are observed in Sri Lankan society. This volume focuses on a study carried out in the Nuwara Eliya Divisional Secretariat in the Central Province of Sri Lanka. The study stands unique as it represents the special features of the Indian Tamil Plantation Community of Sri Lanka. It also discusses the political, economic and social constructs in this community. The study aims to identify the rights specific to the children living in the plantation community.
