Developed in line with the overall framework of the Mahinda Chintana and the United National Development Assistance Framework, 2013-2017, the Country Programme provides an overarching framework for the United Nations’ work in Sri Lanka over the next five years. In 2013, the United Nations Development Programme commenced a new phase in its strong partnership with the Government of Sri Lanka. The Country Programme for 2013-2017 focuses on two main areas: Governance for Empowerment and Social Inclusion and Environmental Sustainability and Disaster Resilience. Built on jointly agreed priorities, the plans set out in this publication will contribute to achieving prosperity, durable peace and development in Sri Lanka.
