The book is based on research conducted on Sri Lanka’s education system across the country in all three major languages, namely, English, Sinhala and Tamil. The contributors include eminent education professionals from the University of Colombo, Open University of Sri Lanka and National Institute of Education. The major areas covered in the book include transforming education for all students, the employability of G.C.E. A/L school leavers, non-formal education, as well as important visionary statements from the likes of Abraham Lincoln and scholars from foreign universities. The book is supported by a wide range of samplings done in many of the rural and urban regions of the country. The book serves as a guideline for the transformation required in the education sector.
